Askern Pharmacy offers the NHS Pharmacy First service for eligible patients in England. Our pharmacy team can access symptoms, provide self-care advice, supply treatment where appropriate, and refer you onwards if you need a different level of care.
Pharmacy First is designed to improve access to care for patients with certain common conditions. Instead of waiting for a GP appointment, eligible patients can be seen by a community pharmacist for assessment, advice, and treatment where clinically appropriate.
Our role is to listen carefully, check symptoms against NHS service criteria, and make sure you get the safest next step. If Pharmacy First is not the right route for your symptoms, we will explain what to do next and where to seek further support.
Eligibility depends on age, symptoms, and NHS clinical criteria. Our team will confirm whether Pharmacy First is suitable during your consultation.
